Medieval Charm
Cipières is a stunning, listed medieval mountain village affording tremendous views of the Alpes Maritimes and the Gorges du Loup, reached by a picturesque mountain road.
The road to Cipières ends in the village square so there is no through traffic and few wandering tourists to disturb the tranquility.
The peaceful atmosphere is enhanced by the beautiful aroma of lavender, thyme and rosemary.
Locally
- The village bar/restaurant "Les Ormeaux" offers great food at a good price. Open lunch times and in the evenings on Friday and Saturday.

- "Cippus Pizza" in the village makes wonderful woodfired pizzas. Open Monday to Friday evenings 18.30 - 22.00 and Saturday and Sunday all day between 10.00 - 22.00.
Takeaway and delivery to Maison Rose available. If you're arriving in Cipières late a pizza delivery can be arranged with prior notice. Call 04 93 59 39 86.
- The epicerie/local shop sells most everyday items.
- A local farm sells organic chickens, ducks, rabbits and eggs. You can also buy local goats cheeses and honey.
Cipières Festivals 2010
- Saturday 8th May - Slideshow A photographic slideshow of local wildlife, flora and beautiful landscapes of the region. Starts 20.30 in the new village hall.
- Saturday 5th June - Feast of Saint Claude Torch lit procession through the village to the Chapel where there will be a free concert with songs of Saint Claude, followed by an aperitif. Then a firework display and an open air ball with bar. Starts around 5pm.
- Sunday 6th June - Mass
Mass at 11am followed by a meal (provide your own plates, cutlery and glasses etc) Adult 10 Euros, Child (6/12yrs) 6 Euros. Closing with a pètanque (boules) competition. Booking required;

- Saturday 12th June - Esclapa L'Oeil Trail
The 10th edition of the Esclapa L'Oeil race organised by the Sports Association of Cipières. Departs 5am from Cipieres. Finishes with an aperitif, some food and dancing. Further information Cipières Esclapa L'Oeil race.
- Friday 25th June - Local School Fair

- Saturday 17th July - Cipières Olympics
Various games and sporting events around the village, followed by an awards ceremony. The festivities will continue with food and entertainment in the village square.
- Saturday 24th July - Concerts
An evening of concerts performed by small local groups. From 5pm in the new village hall.
- Saturday 4th September - Vintage Car Tour
Vésubie Vintage Car Club's second vintage car tour in Cipières.
- Saturday 20th September - Kart Race
- Sunday 26th September - Soap Box Race
Cipières' first soap box race to be held in the village. Make your own soap box car to enter. From 9pm in the village. Contact the Festival Committee for entrance rules.
- Saturday 9th October - Knowledge Rally
Cipières' first Rally of Knowledge. Drive around the village finding and solving riddles to find the hidden treasure.
- Saturday 30th October - Halloween
A festive Halloween afternoon starting at 2pm with fancy dress, games, competitions and a children's raffle. Finishing with a contest of "rummy". Concludes at 8.30pm.
- Saturday 20th November - Beaujolais Nouveau Raffle
From 8pm in the village.
